'American Idol' runner-up Adam Lambert's Debut Album will launch This Fall

"American Idol" champion Allen  signed yesterday with 19 Entertainment and  his debut album would be release on Jive Records this fall, it was announced that Lambert has also signed with 19. His debut disc will be hitting stores in the fall as well.

"To find a talent as exceptional as Adam Lambert is a rare and special event," Simon Fuller, the creator and executive producer of "Idol," and the founder of 19 Entertainment, said in the statement. "I am thrilled that 'American Idol' was the platform for the world to discover this brilliant young man. He is unique and unforgettable and a certain star of tomorrow."

Unlike Allen, Lambert's debut will be released on RCA Records, the home of another "Idol" also-ran, Chris Daughtry.

But just what will the album sound like? Well, in an interview with Rolling Stone (the one where he finally confirms that he's gay), Lambert also spoke about his plans for the disc. While it's still in the early stages, he seems to have a pretty clear idea of how he wants it to turn out.

"I can see myself probably doing a little bit of everything, a rock/pop sound with really strong hooks with, like, a glam edge to it, and a lot of modern production — a dance-y electronic treatment on everything to make it sound current and futuristic," he says in a video of his RS cover shoot. "We kind of just started. We're at the drawing board; we're trying to figure out what kind of sound we want, what kind of producers we want to work with. Right now, it's all just ideas, nothing's really started yet. So, it's really exciting, because anything can happen.

"I'm really just hoping for some longevity," he continues. "I hope that this album that we put out is something a little different. Something that people are both surprised by, but at the same time, it's what they want from me. I took a lot of chances on the show. I went through a broad variety of styles, so I'm hoping the record reflects the journey I took on 'Idol,' and I hope it does well. I hope people like it. I hope I like it."
